I'm actively engaged in a senior design project alongside a team of five collaborators. For this project, I assume dual responsibilities as the project manager and Scrum Master. The collective objective is to conclude the project by December 2024, and we are currently immersed in the preliminary research phases. At the heart of this project lies a singular and unwavering objective: to facilitate seamless interaction between individuals proficient in ASL and those lacking knowledge of the language. The main feature of this project will be the development of a Google Chrome browser extension seamlessly integrated with widely-used communication platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Google Meet. This extension aims to revolutionize communication between ASL users and those unfamiliar with the language by providing real-time translation into text, complemented by an innovative "auto-complete" feature. Recognizing the challenge in ASL, where signs for connectives and prepositions may be absent, the auto-complete function intelligently inserts these elements into the text translation, ensuring a more comprehensive and accessible communication experience.
